Arsenal Football Club has selected six startups to join its first 10-week Innovation Lab programme.
The initiative launched last year targets young innovative companies developing products or services that can enhance the fans’ experience. They will now learn from top business leaders and be given a platform to showcase their innovations – before the club chooses which ones to invest in.
“We are really looking forward to working with these six exciting startups over the next 10 weeks and hopefully beyond. Innovation has always been at the heart of the club since its formation in 1886. Our aim is to create better experiences for our supporters all around the world, from retail experiences to digital content. We are looking forward to taking this next step in the Arsenal Innovation Lab and developing these pioneering ideas to take the club forward,” said Vinai Venkatesham, Chief Commercial Officer at Arsenal.
The first cohort includes French startup BotNation, a company that ‘creates Artificial Intelligence chatbots on messaging apps’; and AIreal – from Dallas, which ‘allows digital content to coexist in reality using geospatial Augmented Reality’.
