The deadline for the Falling Walls Global Call for Science Breakthroughs 2026 has been extended to 30 April.
This international competition identifies and celebrates the world’s most groundbreaking scientific achievements. Researchers, innovators, start-ups, and institutions worldwide are invited to apply or nominate outstanding work.
Categories span the full spectrum of innovation—from life and physical sciences to engineering & technology, social sciences & humanities, art & science, science-driven start-ups, public engagement, and the Women’s Impact Award, which recognises inclusive excellence and societal impact.
Winners gain international visibility, join the global Falling Walls network, and connect with leading decision-makers, innovators, and emerging talent. Selected participants will also be invited to the four-day Falling Walls Science Summit 2026 in Berlin, where they may present their work and compete for the title of Science Breakthrough of the Year on 9 November 2026.
