Delhi students match style with love of the planet

In the last of our three-part series on social entrepreneurs, Enactus Aryabhatta – led by students at Aryabhatta College, Delhi University, the team invites us inside the stylish homes combatting climate change with a little help from Project Ibtida.

What is Project Ibtida?

The students of Enactus Aryabhatta have taken a bold initiative with Project Ibtida. Ibtida has revolutionised the consumer market with its unique solutions that combat climate change. Our goal is to transform unexplored sources of pollution into innovative products. We’ve partnered with GreenJams, the creators of Agrocrete. Agrocrete is a revolutionary and carbon-negative product made from industrial waste, agricultural waste, and fly ash. With Agrocrete, we’ve crafted a stunning line of sustainable and luxurious interior decor called Sanscrete. This collection includes beautiful planters, stylish coasters, and elegant wall clocks that will make any space look and feel stunning. Not only are these products environmentally friendly, but they’re also visually stunning and perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of sophistication to their home.

______________

Why the focus on home decor?

The demand for sustainable home decor products in India is skyrocketing, and it’s not hard to see why. With traditional manufacturing methods taking a heavy toll on the environment, people are looking for eco-friendly alternatives that don’t compromise style or quality. That’s why sustainable home decor! Our products are lightweight, durable, and made with bio-based materials, making them a smart investment for anyone who wants to add a touch of elegance to their home while reducing their carbon footprint. Plus, when you purchase from Project Ibtida, you are supporting local artisans and small businesses – a win-win for everyone involved!

______________

What reactions have you had to the product?

According to the buyers of Sanscrete’s eco-friendly home decor products, they are extremely impressed with the quality and sustainability of the products. They appreciate that the products are made with bio-based materials, which allows them to enjoy beautiful home decor without worrying about the impact on the environment. Additionally, the lightweight and durable nature of the products makes them a practical choice for long-term use. They also note that Sanscrete supports local artisans and small businesses, making it a socially responsible choice as well. Overall, they highly recommend Sanscrete to anyone who wants to create a beautiful and sustainable living space.

______________

How are you promoting the use of eco-friendly materials more generally?

Ibtida is promoting the use of eco-friendly materials by leading the way in cleantech and carbon-negative products. Through the help of GreenJams, we have found a way to turn agricultural waste, industrial waste, and fly ash into Agrocrete, a product that absorbs more carbon than it emits. Not only is this product effective, but it’s also sustainable and follows a zero-waste model. By supporting artisans and small businesses, Ibtida is also promoting social responsibility. Ibtida is always striving to push the boundaries and discover fresh, groundbreaking ideas, and with such a commitment to sustainability and innovation, Ibtida is truly an initiative to watch.

______________

What next for Project Ibtida?

Ibtida is doing its part to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment by using materials that would otherwise go to waste. But Ibtida’s commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop here – we are planning to explore other carbon-negative materials such as hemp. Our new line of bags and jackets made from hemp will be durable, long-lasting, and 4x more durable than other natural fibres. Hemp is also sustainable, renewable, and a high-yield crop, making it an all-natural and absorbent fiber. Ibtida is not only focusing on Sanscrete and hemp but also exploring a range of other materials that can help reverse climate change. By creating sustainable and eco-friendly products, we hope to inspire others to join us in protecting the environment and creating a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
