Tokyo wants Fintech startups
The 2019 Fintech Business Camp Tokyo accelerator is open for applications from international startups. Spearheaded by Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG), and part of the ‘Global Financial City: Tokyo Vision’ initiative it launched in 2017, the camp targets foreign companies pioneering ‘FinTech technologies and business models which do not yet have a presence in Japan’.
“This program is targeted at foreign startup companies operating in the FinTech industry and aims to provide them with mentoring from leading companies in Japan’s finance sector, as well as business matching with companies in Tokyo,” said TMG.
Around 10 companies will be selected to join the accelerator, which will take place from late September to November. Check out the video of the 2017 edition – and apply by ‘July 5, 2019, 23:59 Japan Time’.
