Supercharging the biology among us will create healthy new societies

Planet Earth is on the brink of its next rebirth, says Zach Bush MD – the world renowned authority on the microbiome, with the only question left being: “do we get to see it?”.

It’s a fun possibility that we could start to re-imagine societies in the context of natural law.

At COP28 in Dubai this month Zach, who has just launched the Institute of Natural Law, took time to speak to me about this epochal moment of opportunity for the world, a “regenerative reality” he says “we’re stepping into, where life is going to be more beautiful than we can imagine” – and that by “grasping the fundamentals of natural law” we’ll get to experience it beyond our imagination.

“When we stop killing the soils with our chemistry, allow biology to return, the earth is going to take a very deep breath” he says. “And every time this earth has held her breath, it is for the purpose of an explosion of life to come next. So I’m very excited for us to realise that we don’t have a climate crisis. We have a biologic collapse that’s setting us up for the next rebirth of this planet.”

He adds that by supercharging the biology among us, harnessing natural law, humanity can grab its moment.

“If we start to design a sociopolitical system, socioeconomic system, in fact, a whole society based on natural law, we will become so resilient and regenerative,” he says. “Because we will be iterating all the time for a higher level of beauty, higher level of intelligence, for the collective capacity, for bio diversification at the dinner table, within your companies, within your school systems and learning systems.”
