The record-breaking Solar Impulse plane has made its latest stop off in an epic round the world trip.
Powered solely by energy from the sun, the plane continued its journey – which began last March in Abu Dhabi – with a pit stop in Ohio yesterday, after a a 1,100km flight from Phoenix.
One of the pilots Bertrand Piccard tweeted: “People told the WrightBrothers & us what we wanted to achieve was impossible. They were wrong!”
The team will continue making history with further flights through America expected before the clean energy machine flies the Atlantic en route to its date with destiny, its original point of departure.
