London buses powered by coffee

Coffee isn’t just energising London commuters these days – it is powering the city’s buses too.

London’s bio-bean converts waste coffee grounds into advanced biofuels. And with the support of Shell, it is supplying its green fuel to some of the iconic red buses.

Bio-bean works with big coffee chains to source the coffee grounds and can ‘recycle 50,000 tonnes of waste coffee grounds each year’ at its factory.
