Athens named EU capital of innovation
Congratulations to Athens on becoming the EU Capital of Innovation 2018.
Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, made the announcement at the Web Summit in Lisbon today.

Athens receives €1 million, with €100,000 going to each of the runner-up cities: Aarhus, Hamburg, Leuven, Toulouse, and Umeå. The money will be used to scale up local innovations.
