#WorldCleanUpDay

Millions of engaged citizens worldwide are working as one today for

The global initiative is all thanks to the efforts made by Estonians a decade ago, when 4% of the population came out to clean the entire country of illegally dumped waste, in a matter of hours.

“This captured the imaginations of people worldwide, who were inspired to follow suit with the same ambitious ‘one country, one day’ formula,” the  campaign website explains. “This was the beginning of a global bottom-up civic movement, Let’s Do It! World, which has spread like wildfire around the globe.”

So today, volunteers across the planet are ‘cleaning up litter and mismanaged waste from our beaches, rivers, forests, and streets’

A powerful ‘green wave’ of cleanups will start in New Zealand and end 36 hours later in Hawaii, with millions of people working towards one goal: a clean and healthy planet.

Be part of it –

And keep an eye on our new campaigns page, where we will have more on the upcoming initiatives people can get involved with to help save the planet. We’ve kicked it off with one of our own, to be #foodsavvy
