The winner of the 2017 European capital of innovation competition will be announced in November.
As well as recognising the urban centre pioneering initiatives that enhance ‘quality of life and ‘involve citizens in community life’, it will also look to those growing a vibrant startup ecosystem. The winner will bag €1 million to scale up innovation, with €100,000 going to those in second and third positions.
Paris – one of the final 10 cities – is home to the world’s largest startup campus, Station F, and its support for young companies gives it a good chance of claiming one of the top three places.
The winners will be announced on 7 November 2017 at the Lisbon Web Summit.
