A growing number of American cities are pledging to shift to using 100% renewable energy.
California’s Goleta City Council is the latest to join the club, backing a resolution this week to move the city to 100% renewable electricity use by 2030.
“Im proud that Goleta just adopted a 100% renewable energy goal by 2030. This effort is an important and strategic first step to securing more, reliable, safe, and economic energy vital to our community’s long term prosperity and welfare,” said Goleta Mayor Paula Perotte.
Goleta becomes the 51st US city to commit to sourcing 100% of its electricity from clean sources, joining the like San Diego and San Francisco.
