‘Unlock the change’ to benefit society

(BERLIN)

A new initiative is being launched in Europe to encourage innovation which overcomes societal problems.

The Social Challenges Innovation Platform, backed by the European commission, wants to direct innovation towards society’s biggest social and environmental challenges. It is aimed at “designing, creating and enabling an online ecosystem encouraging the interaction between social innovators and SMEs”.

Social entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs will be encouraged to work together via different challenges and tap into a fund of €2,430,000 to help deliver meaningful change. The venture is being ‘powered by Meta Group, EBN and Impact Hub – under the management of the Executive Agency for SMEs (EASME)’.

The launch event will be held on 18 May in Berlin.
