Tokyo is working hard to attract the world’s brightest startups.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is promoting a number of accelerator programmes targeted at young companies harnessing frontier technologies. Last month we reported applications had opened for TMG’s New Tech Business Camp Tokyo.
And today TMG has launched the Blockchain Business Camp Tokyo. The new platform is open to foreign startups that have developed blockchain tech linked to securities, transactions, IoT, supply chains and the sharing economy. TMG will invite those selected to a three month programme designed to generate new innovations in the field.
As well as mentorship from established Japanese firms, startups will have direct access to the investment opportunities they need to establish an ongoing presence in the country.
The deadline for applications is 24 November, with the accelerator starting in January 2018.
