Think sustainable consumption

UN Global Goal 12 is very much in the spotlight this week: shifting to sustainable consumption and production habits.

Our Impact Comms Lead, Carlotta De Toni, has landed on it in her ongoing Instagram journey through all 17.

Posting about one of the big issues linked to Goal 12, Carlotta said: “1/3 of the food produced in the world is wasted together with all the resources that went into producing it. Paying attention to the label or the available food in our fridge is a great way to reduce food waste.

“During my recent trip to Milan, I attended the Seeds&Chips summit, and I came across a food innovation that holds the promise to help reduce food waste. It is called Apeel, and it is a powder, made of the same substance of the fruit or vegetable, that adds an extra layer of peel to produce. A few weeks back, I wrote an article about this fantastic company and its first market launch in the US – check it out.”

Join Carlotta on Instagram and contribute to raising awareness of the Global Goals. And watch more on Goal 12 from today’s UN High-Level Political Forum 2018 in New York.
