Scotland’s Hogmanay hit will be song by millions worldwide today when the clock chimes midnight.
Auld Lang Syne is synonymous with this time of the year, even if many who sing it don’t know all the words.
Scotland’s poet Rabbie Burns wrote the lyrics in 1788, but the tune came later, after his death.
And it provides the perfect soundtrack to a time of change, talking as it does of happy times and coming together again.
