St Andrew’s Day is Scotland’s national day and our partners at the Innovation Academy celebrated the occasion with an event to toast the pioneering spirit which has inspired Scots to travel the world and enrich it along the way.
The Academy’s Creative Director, writer and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli hosted the event in Edinburgh, which celebrated the growing culture of international collaboration.

Praised at its launch in August for “adopting a different approach in inspiring innovation” by the Director of Interface, Dr Siobhán Jordan, the Academy is a welcome addition to the innovation landscape.
Incorporating tech into its sessions, the Academy infuses its core themes of collaboration, creativity, change and internationalisation into its programme schedule.
Earlier this month, the Academy’s Co-Founder Susan Robertson visited the European Parliament to introduce the Academy and set out its vision for working in partnership with organisations across the continent. Susan also signed the European pact for innovation in Brussels. Plans are now underway for the Academy to host an event in the parliament next year.
As a further sign of its global ambitions, the Academy announced the launch of its first international initiative: the J Programme. This will launch in 2017 and is targeted at Japanese professionals who want to come to Scotland, connect with industry peers, learn about the innovation economy in Scotland and share their expertise.
Innovators Magazine is delighted to support the Academy and to share both our knowledge of the key ‘industries transforming our world’ and the skills initiatives businesses tell us are needed at a local, national and international level to support them.
We’ll bring you more on developments at the Academy in the coming months.
