The circular economy’s day in the sun

The oceans are screaming for our help. And those screams are echoing around the world today as we mark World Oceans Day.

One American company is responding by creating stylish sunglasses from ocean waste. Norton Point is committed to  being part of a growing global movement of entrepreneurs working to find answers to the 8 million metric tons of plastics that are clogging up the world’s oceans. Its 1 to 1 pledge also means it promises to remove one pound of plastic for every sale made.

The responses across social media today on  and to the fact – highlighted in an Ellen MacArthur Foundation report – that “by 2050 oceans could contain more plastics than fish (by weight)” seem pretty clear…
