A tap of a smartphone app can help fight global hunger.
The ShareTheMeal app – a venture led by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) – can provide a meal to those in desperate need for US $0.50, an amount which covers the cost of one daily ration.
“This includes all costs related to feeding the children: foods, transport and preparation of meals, regular monitoring as well as all other relevant costs,” WFP said.
The body has served over 15 million meals through an initiative that everyone can help drive forward, as the app is available in 10 languages and 30 currencies.
