Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean is the theme of today’s UN World Oceans Day 2020.

“On Monday’s #WorldOceanDay, we are shining a spotlight on innovations to #SaveOurOcean before it’s too late” – UNESCO tweeted.

As well as a conveyor belt of innovations designed to breathe new life in to the ‘lungs of the Earth’ there are also hundreds of virtual events taking place to mark World Oceans Day that should whet your appetite to take action.

“For 2020, World Oceans Day is uniting conservation action to grow the global movement calling on world leaders to protect 30% of our blue planet by 2030. This critical need is called 30×30. By safeguarding at least 30% of our ocean through a network of highly protected areas we can help ensure a healthy home for all,” the World Oceans Day website states.
