Eating al fresco is a great way to connect with nature. To help ensure it doesn’t turn out badly for the environment though – through the disposal of additional waste – an innovative German company is making tableware from leaves.

Leaf Republic has developed a method to produce tableware entirely from leaves  “no chemicals, no plastic”. So when people eat outdoors “the plate will be as natural and green as everything around” them.

“Not a single tree is cut down. Our products are as renewable and biodegradable as a leaf falling from a tree,” the company said.
