Spiderman or Batman?

4YFN Barcelona is the standout annual event for startups with serious global ambitions. We have been media partners with the 4YFN series for a number of years and it continues to impress as it evolves to meet the needs of young companies and wider society. Case in point is 4YFN’s brand new 4Impact initiative, which is dedicated entirely to making the world a bit better by harnessing the power of entrepreneurship.

The 2020 edition of 4YFN Barcelona kicks off on 24 February, and as the clock ticks down to doors opening, Krloos Rivera, Social Nest Foundation‘s Chief Entrepreneurship Officer and 4YFN ambassador, answered a few questions on what he expects this year. Here’s what he told the team at 4YFN…

Why are you coming to 4YFN? What do you want to explore?

I’m coming to 4YFN (again!) to support people and organizations in the development of entrepreneurial proposals that respond – through technology – to social and environmental challenges in a sustainable way.

What is your mantra when it comes to work and to innovation?

My mantra is give first. Give first and disrupt!

What has been the biggest innovation or disruption to your field in the last 4 years?

The emergence of Tech 4 Goodhas been a major step change in the whole field of technology. Of course technology has impacted people’s lives along the way: helping some people, making life more difficult for others. But to have the stated intention that goodness should be designed into its DNA – that’s something really positive and that we’re seeing change things around the world.

What technology are you most excited about 4 years from now and why?

I can’t wait to see what will happen with Artificial Intelligence. There are so many weird and wonderful applications for AI, that you probably need AI to imagine them all. This is also an area that needs the right incentives and the right people involved in its development – for its fair application and to ensure its impact is a positive one.

Spiderman or Batman?

Batman

How did you come to that conclusion?

Because Batman doesn’t have superpowers, he gets by with his mind and his wit. Like me!
