An iconic French ski resort is integrating smart technologies this winter season as part of a new platform that could soon be replicated across the country.
Montgenèvre – in the Alps – is being transformed into a ‘smart resort’ through the introduction of a mobile app that will harness big data analytics. Visitors and residents alike will be able to easily access the real-time information generated, via free wi-fi.
The Montgenèvre app will give users up-to-the-minute access to maps, 3D images, video, and a whole of host of other features, which will simplify their decision-making and planning processes. Weather forecasts, avalanche warnings, and opening times will all be available on the go, thanks to Orange Business Services.
“Orange, through its Smart Cities entity, is proud to provide its expertise in the digital transformation of cities and regions to the Montgenèvre resort, by offering innovative solutions for connectivity, mobile applications and data analysis for the benefit of visitors and residents,” said Delphine Woussen, Director of Orange Smart Cities within Orange Business Services.
The app is available in French, Italian and English – and there will be summer and winter versions.
