Seeds planted for burger revolution

(USA)

The meat-free revolution is quite literally growing – and fast. Beyond Meat – backed by investors including Bill Gates – is one of the leaders of a global movement that is busy innovating for a sustainable food system.

It produces burgers made from plant proteins and is even convincing the people of Hong Kong, the biggest meat eating population on the planet, to try the burgers at the city’s Green Common markets.

“I wouldn’t compare The Beyond Burger with other plant or meat burgers; I would compare it to the iPhone or Tesla, because it is, simply, a game-changer,” said David Yeung, Green Common’s , CEO and co-founder.

Now the company has announced that hundreds of stores – across 13 American states – will be selling the ‘game-changer’ at outlets of the major US grocery chain Kroger.
