Nicola Sturgeon has thanked one of the country’s biggest stars for showcasing Scotland to audiences in America as a great place to visit.
Alan Cumming has teamed up with VisitScotland and NBC in a bid to attract even more visitors from America prompting the first minister to tweet the multi-award winning actor last week to say thanks for his “help promoting Scottish tourism”.
He will feature in a half hour programme touring his homeland for NBC’s 1stLook programme, which will be broadcast stateside early next year.
Alan Cumming said:“I always love coming back to Scotland and I always love it when my American friends ask me about it. So now I get to come and shoot a show where I both revel in Scotland and show it off to my friends back in the States – a double whammy!”
The programmes combined with TV spots are expected to reach around six million US homes.
