Innovators Magazine is looking forward to the European Innovation Summit|Week event in Brussels later this month.
Held in and around the European Parliament annually, the Summit is the continent’s premier gathering of the innovation economy.
Event organisers Knowledge4Innovation,(K4I) in partnership with IncubatorEurope and Glowfly, have added a new startup initiative this year, the EU Top 50 Millennial Startup Competition. Innovators Magazine is producing a special edition to mark the inaugural competition, in collaboration with K4I, which will feature all 50, as well as an exclusive interview with ‘serial-explorer’, Bertrand Piccard. The Swiss innovator is one of the keynote speakers at the startup convention, being held on 28 November in the European Parliament Hemicycle.
And on 30 November, Innovators Magazine, a proud media partner of the Summit, is hosting a St Andrew’s Day reception in the European Parliament as part of the closing ceremony programme. MEP, Lambert van Nistelrooij will host the closing ceremony, while fellow MEP, Alyn Smith, will do the honours for the St Andrew’s Day part to the proceedings.
Europe’s politicians and business leaders will hear about Scotland’s important role in Europe’s growing innovation economy, in the company of its rather popular national drink. Strathclyde University will also showcase its Images of Research gallery at the reception, in what promises to be a great night in Brussels.
“Through our many partnerships with Universities, businesses and technology organisations across Europe, and through our membership of CESAER – the association of European Universities of Science and Technology – we are deeply involved in European innovation. We are therefore delighted that the Images of Research tour is making its international debut at the European Innovation Summit and we hope that it will provide delegates with an insight to the breadth of our research, its industrial and societal impact and to the creativity of our researchers,” said Professor Tim Bedford, Associate Principal for Research & Innovation at Strathclyde University.
