San Francisco champions use of solar power

|20 April 2016|

USA

New buildings in San Francisco will be required to use more solar power following legislation passed by the city’s board of supervisors.

There was unanimous support for the progressive new law, which will see new constructions under 10 floors – commercial and residential – now include solar panels.

Supervisor Scott Wiener, who made the proposals, said: “Activating underutilised roof space is a smart and efficient way to promote the use of solar energy and improve our environment.”
