Robots help prepare the perfect pizza

|14 September 2016|

USA

A silicon valley start up is serving up slices of pizza to hungry Americans using robots.

Food-tech pioneers Zume Pizza already uses robots during preparation, to add sauce and pop the pizzas in the oven but its ultimate goal is to have them carry out the whole process.

The Californian company insists its goal is not to replace humans though but have robots carry out the more repetitive jobs to free up humans to do higher value tasks.

Co-founder and CEO Julia Collins said: “We automate those repetitive tasks, so that we can spend more money on higher quality ingredients. There will always be a model here at Zume where robots and humans work together to create delicious food.”
