Pepper the robot is the first designed to live with humans.
SoftBank Group companies SoftBank Mobile Corp, Japan’s leading mobile operator and Aldebaran Robotics SAS, the world leader in humanoid robotics, announced the joint development of Pepper, the world’s first personal robot that can read emotions, last summer
The robot is currently greeting and interacting with customers in SoftBank Mobile stores in Japan.
“Engaging and friendly, Pepper is much more than a robot, he’s a companion able to communicate with you through the most intuitive interface we know: voice, touch and emotions,” states Aldebaran’s website.
SoftBank Robotics Corp announced that units for November sales of Pepper sold out, and that orders won’t be taken again until Boxing Day online at the SoftBank website.
