Pope Francis opens World Food Day

Pope Francis has spoken this morning at a ceremony in Rome to get World Food Day underway.

To mark the day, organised by the Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nation, events are being held in over 150 countries. The theme for today is change the future of migration. Invest in food security and rural development. While the ultimate goal is to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 – to have Zero Hunger by 2030.

There are major challenges to overcome to get there.

Action and investment needs to be targeted in the right areas.
