Bertrand Piccard will give the keynote speech at the inaugural EU Startup Convention taking place at this month’s European Innovation Summit.
Innovators Magazine is producing a special edition for the new EU Top 50 Startups platform, which has been introduced this year by Knowledge4Innovation, organisers of the summit — in cooperation with IncubatorEurope and Glowfly.
We have an exclusive interview with Bertrand in the EU50 magazine. The Swiss pioneer, who co-piloted the Solar Impulse plane, powered entirely by the sun, around the world last year, said startups need to focus on marketing their products.
He told Innovators: “I want to say to the startups, they have to promote themselves. This is what people miss when they are innovators, the marketing part. They are very good scientifically but they don’t know how to communicate. And today lots of the success will come from communication; how they are going to make themselves better known, better respected; in order to have their solutions coming on the market.”
