Harrison Ford declared ‘nature doesn’t need people, people need nature’ in a passionate speech at last week’s Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco.
We tend to agree.
If you do too, check out the Climate Neutral Now Pledge from the United Nations Climate Change secretariat, calling on companies and individuals to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative suggests measuring, reducing, and offsetting unavoidable emissions to do this. Offsetting means purchasing UN-Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) – they finance key projects in developing countries, including solar and wind farms.
“Those least responsible will bear the biggest costs,” Harrison told leaders in California last week, and it is up to all of us now to take responsibility, corporations and individuals, and lead on climate.
