New robot does the simple things well

Robots can struggle with picking up everyday items like bottles or shoes.

But now a team from UC Berkeley has built DexNet 2.0 – a nimble robot that can move simple objects around with a rather impressive 99% success rate. The new robot technology will be applicable to industry and has the potential to transform manufacturing practices.
