The Sierra Club has announced that Keene in New Hampshire is the latest city in America to commit to transitioning to 100% clean energy.

A resolution passed by the city council sets a target of using 100% renewable power for electricity by 2030 and across all sectors by 2050.

“The transition to clean energy is happening. I want to do what I can to accelerate it because I am concerned about climate change and the world my grandchildren will live in,” Julie Dickson, a Keene resident, told the  Sierra Club.

Keene joins four other cities in New Hampshire and more than 100 across America that have made the pledge.
