New episodes of the Inside Ideas podcast available now

Humanity’s metamorphosis from villain to worthy steward of the planet may be in its embryonic stages but the germination process is underway. Light piercing the heavy fog of the Anthropocene reveals an outline of something better. Once opaque concepts and ideals like the circular economy, the Symbiocene, collective consciousness, are now moving to the centre of the human experience, freeing humanity from the grip of its Anthropocenic nightmare.

In Season 5 of the Inside Ideas podcast, the architects of these transformations join me to give form to this new world we can reach out and touch.

My latest guest, the Australian philosopher, Dr Glenn A. Albrecht, said: “Life doesn’t have to be a continuation of the despotic Anthropocene.” It can be superseded by the Symbiocene, a future state where humans reintegrate with nature. Albrecht gives amazing examples of where you can see this happening in today’s economy, calling on innovators of all colours to use it as inspiration to create a better future.

In the season’s openers, Emanuel Kuntzelman, president of Fundación por el Futuro in Madrid, takes us inside the Holomovement, a way of thinking and being inspired by the idea that the universe is an interconnected whole. While Tammy Michelle Scarlett, executive director of UNIFY, highlights the “opportunity that exists for humanity to drive change from the inside out” – adding some investing 101 insight along the way on how to grow social and environmental profits. Thomas Rödding, CEO of Narravero, also joins me with news on technology that makes it “much easier for everyone to live a circular economy”.

What a start to Season 5. Thanks to all of you for listening and watching. You can catch up with all episodes of Season 5 now, and catch previous shows, on YouTube, listen wherever you get your podcasts, and follow us on Instagram and Facebook.

Meanwhile, check out Our Changing World Docuseries, where I speak about the ways we can reingineer the world’s complex systems to move towards a sustainable future.
