Manufacturers can access a set of online tools to advance their circular economy ambitions.
The European Commission-funded ResCom (Resource Conservative Manufacturing) project has delivered a one-stop shop for manufacturers looking for actionable insight on a range of key areas, such as analytical, design, product, and planning information, which can help direct their circular economy strategies.
“The ResCoM outcomes help designers and manufacturers understand how collection, remanufacturing and reuse of products can lead to more profitable, resource-efficient and resilient business practices compared to the current linear manufacturing system. The platform and tools are accompanied by a series of industrial case studies demonstrating the benefits of its application across various industries,” the ResCom website states.
And the platform, which aims to ‘support decision-making and implementation of closed-loop product systems’, is being well received by manufacturers.
