Scotland’s most northerly distillery has bottled its first single malt ready  for selling later in the year.

Director of The Shetland Distillery Company Stuart Nickerson has labelled the development a landmark moment for the Scotch whisky industry.

Located in Unst, the whisky is currently produced in Portsoy in Aberdeenshire and then shipped to the isle for bottling but the company will be producing it on Unst in the future.
