United Nations Universal Children’s Day is the perfect occasion to become well acquainted with the ShareTheMeal app.
To date users of the smartphone app have provided nearly 20 million meals to those who need it the most, and adding to this is only a tap away.
Supported by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the app provides a meal for a paltry US $0.50 contribution, made through a smartphone.
“This includes all costs related to feeding the children: foods, transport and preparation of meals, regular monitoring as well as all other relevant costs,” WFP said.
Available in 10 languages and 30 currencies, the app also helps contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2).
