The International Journalism Festival (IJF) in Perugia next month will include a panel discussion on food innovation and the UN Sustainability Goals (SDGs).
In a packed five-day programme, topics and issues which feature regularly on these pages – including cybersecurity, gender equality and the future of work, will be explored by a diverse group of speakers.
And the panel on 12 April, organised by the Barilla Center For Food & Nutrition (BCFN) Foundation, is one that caught our eye. It will look at how food can be the answer to ‘ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all’ – within the context of the SDGs.
We agree with BCFN that ‘media and information have a major role to play in increasing the awareness and knowledge on the SDGs’ as well as ‘shining the spotlight on people who are often left out of the conversation’.
One of the great things about the festival, which runs from 11 to 15 April, is people can attend without any pre-registration, and there is no cost. So if you can get to Perugia on these dates, get along to what is the ‘biggest annual media event in Europe’.
And join our impact comms lead, Carlotta De Toni, on Instagram, where she is currently discussing all 17 SDGs.
