Doris Naisbitt is my guest today on Inside Ideas. An observer of global social, economic and political trends, Doris is Director of the Naisbitt China Institute, author and co-author of a number of bestselling books, and regular columnist and commentator in German, Chinese and Nepalese media.
Doris has a distinguished career in publishing, serving as head of the Austrian publishing houses Austria Press and Signum Verlag. During her tenure she established Signum as a player in the broader German language market. Among her internationally-renowned authors was John Naisbitt. His book Megatrends Asia, published 1995, became a bestseller in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The pair married in 2000. And are working in close collaboration delivering public lectures and translating books. Among these are works for the German publishing houses Hanser, Bertelsmann and Frankfurter Allgemeine Buchverlag.
Since the couple became co-authors in 2006, they speak to audiences inAsia, Latin America, Africa, Europe and the US, have appeared on many television programs, and written for first-tier publications, and addressed numerous government and policymaking institutions.
Doris tells me on Inside Ideas that right now ‘we are in a time called half time’ and though transformative change is inevitable, as ‘creators of the world, it is what each of us does’ that will still be central to delivering the sustainable future we want to live in.
