The Climate Investment Summit taking place this Wednesday in London is a chance for investors and institutions to focus on ways they can increase the flow of finance to support the drive for a net-zero future.
Organised by the World Climate Foundation, the summit will push for an ‘acceleration of investments in global climate solutions this decade’ especially ‘nature-based solutions’. The closing session from Assets to Impact: Driving Investments Towards Climate Resilience by 2030 will make key recommendations on how.
“With limited time to mitigate climate change impacts, this high-level closing panel will conclude on key recommendations for investors and financial institutions to align global finance flows with net-zero emissions and climate-resilient development, including decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors,” the event website states. “How can we catalyse a generational shift toward climate investments, technologies, and solutions this decade? Ahead of the upcoming COP28, what are strategies to transition from an ROI-only approach to a holistic perspective that incorporates climate change impact?”
The summit forms part of a year-long ‘2023 Roadmap’ series of events, with each taking a market-oriented approach to accelerating the ‘deployment of the finance required for a net-zero future’, which will culminate in the flagship World Climate Summit – The Investment COP, taking place 7-8 December in Dubai, during COP28.
