Game changers day has arrived

(GLASGOW)

Scotland will become the capital of the innovation economy this evening.

The winners of the inaugural Global Game Changers awards will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow.

Launched this year by Innovators Magazine and the Herald Scotland, the event is set to become an integral part of the growing movement pushing for a sustainable world. It will recognise the work of the innovation economy, in all its cross-sectoral glory, and the contribution it is making to delivering a sustainable future for all, especially in relation to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We reported last month that two of Europe’s leading biotech companies have been shortlisted for a gong. And Roger Kilburn. Chief Executive Officer of the internationally-renowned Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC), will be presenting one of the awards. So there is plenty of representation from the biotech sector.

But there are also companies and individuals from across the industries and ecosystems covered by this magazine that have been shortlisted for an award. The categories include: women in innovation; intrapreneurship; corporates for good, startups in the sharing economy, collaboration; STEM education; young pioneers; and the circular economy.

Good luck to all of tonight’s finalists.
