Helsinki’s Flow Festival – in collaboration with Neste – is launching the Sustainability Rider at this month’s carbon-neutral event. It gives artists the opportunity to maximise their influence by adding the rider, which calls on venues and organisers to ‘pay attention to recycling, the offsetting of aviation emissions, environmentally-friendly accommodation and transportation options as well as to the reduction of disposable products, such as water bottles’.
Described as a ‘ready-to-use code of conduct’, it has been inspired by the Inclusion Rider being used in the movie industry to support the drive for equality of opportunity.
“Neste and Flow share ambitious climate targets, and this collaboration is a prime example of sustainable choices that we can offer to large events, such as Flow Festival. We need all the possible ways to tackle the climate crisis. I’m happy that we could provide our sustainability expertise to introduce the Sustainability Rider for the artists while continuing to offer our Neste MY Renewable Diesel to reduce the festival’s greenhouse gas emissions,” says Sirpa Tuomi, Marketing Director at Neste.
The Neste MY Renewable Diesel is made from 100% waste and residues, and cuts emissions by up to 90%.
