Beer and snacks from food waste = a good way to relax and do your duty for the environment.
Step forward Tyson Foods, which is making snacks from rescued ingredients in a bid to tackle food waste. Its Tyson Innovation Lab is working with partners including Molson Coors on Protein Crisps, the first product released under the new ¡Yappah! brand. Molson provides spent grain for use in the flavouring of the crips, which have been crafted by Michelin-star chef, Chef Kang Kuan.
“With the Protein Crisps we are taking ‘forgotten’ ingredients and crafting them into a delicious protein snack. For the ¡Yappah! brand, sustainability is not an add-on, it’s our DNA. Fighting food waste is just the beginning,” said Rizal Hamdallah, Head of Tyson Innovation Lab.
Fancy a beer to complement the crisps? Of course you do – and thankfully there are a few food waste innovators on the case.
