Dutch trains powered by wind energy

It was announced earlier this month that all Dutch electric trains are now 100% powered by wind energy.

A landmark achievement for sustainable transport, it is the result of a collaboration between NS, Holland’s main passenger railway operator and electricity company Eneco.

“Since 1 January, 100% of our trains are running on wind energy,” said NS spokesman, Ton Boon.
