Des Moines

The 2019 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Agtech will take place in Des Moines, Iowa, this summer. In our end of week roundup of events we media partner with, this is one our biotech readers – and stakeholders from other sectors – should check out.

Here are some of the highlights the staff at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) – the event organisers – picked out for the Congress, which will be held between 8 and 11 July:

As part of the conference’s renewed focus, the world’s largest conference on industrial biotechnology will feature programming on ag tech. The new 2019 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology and Agtech will also feature tours exploring companies and universities innovating in the Midwest region, opportunities to pitch your company in front of investors and, of course, the forum to partner with companies and innovators in the industry.

Programming on Sustainability and the Future of Food

From our food, to our health, to our planet, biotechnology can lead to solutions and benefits in food and agriculture. In getting back to the roots of all things agriculture and industrial biotechnology, the BIO World Congress will feature “Sustainability and the Future of Food” as a new programming track along with others that focus on the work in the region. Learn more about the new Future of Food program track – and also view all programming at #BIOWC19 for a flavour of what to expect.

Bioeconomy Tours

Iowa and the mid-western region are home to many of the companies, universities and research facilities that are at the forefront of biotechnology innovation. Kicking off the event on Monday morning (July 8), attendees will get the opportunity to go on tours of select campuses and facilities, learning about the impressive work that is being done in the region to fuel and feed the world. Don’t miss the chance to participate in these behind-the-scenes tours at the 2019 BIO World Congress.

Start-Up Stadium @ World Congress

Start-Up Stadium provides emerging biotech companies the opportunity to present in a formal setting to investors, analysts and strategists across the value chain. We’ll have a panel of judges, prizes awarded and more. There is still time to be a part of the action in Des Moines. Apply to participate in Start-Up Stadium today. The application deadline is May 10.

BIO’s One-on-One Partnering

Of course, BIO’s One-one-One Partnering will still be prominently featured on the exhibit floor and throughout the 2019 BIO World Congress. BIO One-one-One Partnering is the only place you can literally meet hundreds of companies in one week. It takes the stress out of coordinating and scheduling meetings at the BIO World Congress, so you can focus on your partnering strategy. Through BIO’s One-on-One Partnering, attendees can request meetings, message potential partners pre- and post-World Congress and create company profiles to showcase your company’s mission or latest breakthrough.

BIO will be hosting a BIO One-on-One Partnering Webinar so you can familiarize yourself with the platform and get tips on how best to use the system so that you’ll be ready to partner on Day 1! Sign up for the webinar today!

Be sure to register for the 2019 Bio World Congress before June 12 to take advantage of early bird rates.
