‘How can we make all plastic packaging recyclable?’
The $1 million Circular Materials Challenge, part of the New Plastics Economy Innovation Prize, from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, wants to find solutions for achieving this.
With about 13% of the packaging used to make items like crisp packets, shampoo sachets and food wrappers, coming from multi-layer, difficult to recycle plastics, the challenge wants to hear from innovators with ideas for alternative materials which can be re-used or ‘industrially composted’.
It is deadline day for submissions. The winners will be announced at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos in January 2018.
