What impact could potential COVID-19 lockdown exit strategies have on the health of citizens and the economy? To help answer both these questions a new extended multi-disciplinary hackathon is about to launch that will bring together experts including economists, data scientists, and health professionals to develop models that can inform policymakers of the implications of the steps they take to ease lockdown measures.

Led by London fintech Auquan, this is about assessing the impact of different pathways chosen to exit lockdown. Auquan will have the support of its community of data scientists, drawn from world-renowned international institutions including MIT, the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, and Imperial College London.

Technical innovators are now being urged to join the project and contribute to a new understanding of what might come next, based on the decision leaders make. The hackathon kicks off on 18 May – find out more.
