New statistics show renewable energy has powered Costa Rica for 300 days so far this year.
The news was revealed by the country’s National Center for Energy Control (CENCE). In 2017, 78.26% of its electricity came from hydropower, wind, geothermal, biomass and solar.
The numbers already surpass Costa Rica’s achievements in 2015 and 2016, of 299 and 271 days respectively, and there is over a month of the year remaining.
