COP28: Evercity platform plots new future for green finance

I’m speaking to India Rose Matharu-Daley, a sustainability strategist with EcoAdvisors, at COP28, Dubai. India speaks to OnePoint5Media and Allied4Future about the pioneering Evercity Platform, a startup transforming the world of green finance by “streamlining green debt origination to reach the market from indigenous communities and local communities on the ground in developing countries”.

India says if the world “stops taking nature for granted” and capital and finance is made available to support the good things being said in Dubai, then there is hope the negotiations could “lead to something tangible that will be realised in the near future”.

COP28 Update

There is a draft text now on the table and Dr Sultan Al Jaber, COP28 President, is urging countries to get behind it. “Together, we have the opportunity to deliver history again. We can send a signal to the world that multilateralism does actually work, that this process can respond to what the science is telling us, that it can deliver for the most vulnerable, and keep 1.5 within reach. We need to focus everyone on closing out the toughest issues that continue to remain. I need all parties to show even more flexibility to get us to the finish line.”

Al Jaber  adds: “The world is watching. Let’s not rest until we get this done.”
