A well-documented recent report said there are just 12 years for society to take the steps needed to meet climate targets.
Taking the Climate Neutral Now Pledge is one action businesses and individuals can take. The United Nations Climate Change secretariat initiative asks that signatories reduce greenhouse gas emissions by measuring, reducing, and offsetting unavoidable emissions. Purchasing UN-Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) to finance key projects in developing countries offsets the negative impacts made.
“We all need to take personal responsibility to combat the threat of climate change. Join me in the Climate Neutral Now initiative to reduce the impact of climate change and offset carbon emissions. Help protect the ecosystems that sustain biodiversity and save the livelihoods of billions of people around the world,” said Edward Norton, a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity.
